Interkuler - the general information

Cooling of blown air

Interkuler in fact is the heat exchanger intended for decrease in temperature of air passing through it.

Air, being compressed in the compressor, heats up. Partsialny pressure of oxygen thus falls. For prevention of it, the interkuler after whom the cooled air arrives in the inlet pipeline is applied.

The compressed air arrives not in the inlet pipeline (as on ordinary diesel engines), and in an interkuler. Interkuler is located in a forward part of an impellent compartment and is cooled with the liquid banished through radiators in a forward part of an impellent compartment. Interkuler looks as well as a radiator of system of cooling. From an interkuler air moves in the inlet pipeline.

Thanks to cooling of forced air filling of cylinders increases, and thanks to decrease in temperature of the fulfilled gases the content of oxides of nitrogen in them is reduced.

The radiator of forced air (110/2), radiator of OZh (110/10) and the electric pump (М44) enters into a separate working contour of an interkuler. Also additional radiator (110/11) is established.

Warmed up at a szhimaniye in the compressor air forced in the engine is banished through a radiator (110/2) in which gives a part of heat of cooling liquid of the engine. Heat removal from cooling liquid in turn is made in a radiator (110/10) then liquid is forced again by the pump (М44) in an interkuler.

Physical parameters of an air stream (temperature and pressure) are measured below an interkuler on a stream and results of measurements are transferred to ECM (N3/10).

Activation of the pump of an interkuler is made by means of the individual relay placed in a box of the relay and safety locks of the engine (K40/8kW).
